Hi! My name is Goose

Goose had a tough start to life and came to Dogwatch with more challenges than most. Shortly after he arrived, Goose faced one of the hardest battles of his life—contracting parvovirus. It was a touch-and-go situation, but he fought with everything he had. With round-the-clock care and support from our dedicated team, Goose pulled through. His recovery, however, was just the beginning of a long journey.

Due to his difficult early life, Goose had to work through significant behavioural challenges, particularly with his elevation levels, meaning he could get overstimulated and anxious. Our team spent countless hours on rehabilitation and training, helping Goose build confidence and develop the skills he needed to succeed in a home environment. His transformation was remarkable, but he needed someone special—someone willing to go at Goose’s pace and give him the chance he deserved.

That’s when Sean came into the picture. Wanting to adopt a long-term resident, Sean met Goose and immediately understood that patience and commitment were key. Sean embraced every step of the journey, taking the time to implement the training Goose had learned at Dogwatch and ensuring it continued in his new home. Sean didn’t just provide Goose with a home—he gave him a second chance at life.

Now, Goose is living his best life, enjoying walks at the beach and Bottle Lake, and snuggling up on the couch with his new Dad. For Goose, finding his happily ever after took time, but it’s stories like his that remind us why we do what we do at Dogwatch. Seeing our long-termers find their perfect homes is what we live for, and we couldn’t be happier for Goose and Sean ❤️
