More about Boy
##Update 3/10 Boy is now adopted and on his settling and support period with his new family##
About Boy
Boy is a calm, thoughtful dog with a gentle nature and a lot of heart. He takes his time to get to know people, but once he trusts you, he’s incredibly loyal and affectionate. He’s not a pushy dog – instead, he watches the world with quiet curiosity and chooses connection on his terms.
Boy originally came from a working background but was surrendered due to injury. Since arriving, he’s shown himself to be clean, respectful, and easy to have in the home. He’s currently living in a family environment with a child aged 2yr, cats and a female dog. He enjoys quiet companionship and soft interactions.
He would suit a calm household with people who are happy to give him time and space to decompress. A secure section and a steady routine will help him continue to build confidence.
On Walks
Boy is learning to walk on a loose lead, as he came from a off-lead farm environment, but he is picking this up well! His movement is currently limited (see below) but he enjoys slow, steady walks as part of his recovery. Boy has enjoyed a couple camping trips with his foster family and done really well.
Medical Needs
Boy recently had his back leg amputated after ongoing mobility issues and complications from previous surgery. Since the operation, he’s been thriving and adjusting beautifully to life as a tripod.
He no longer needs the intensive physiotherapy and hydrotherapy his recovery first required, but will benefit from a home that understands his needs and helps him maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle.
His condition is now stable and well managed, and with the right care, Boy can look forward to a full, happy life as the loving, active companion he’s meant to be.
