Meet Dakota
10 Week Staffy x whippet
Dakota is a cheeky, clever girl with a big personality. She’s incredibly curious, loves people, and is always keen to be part of the action. She will thrive in a home that can keep up with ongoing training and provide a consistent, structured routine to help her continue learning and developing good habits.
She’s a high-energy pup who already knows some basic cues like sit, touch, and occasionally down. However, she does have a short attention span, so she’ll benefit most from short, frequent training sessions to keep her engaged and set up for success.
Dakota can become overly excited when interacting with other dogs. With calm, well-managed introductions and some guidance around appropriate play, she settles well and is able to relax after some downtime.
She currently relies on her crate for proper rest. Dakota finds it difficult to switch off on her own due to being easily distracted, but once settled in her crate (especially with a blanket over it), she quickly relaxes and goes to sleep. She follows a routine of sleeping every couple of hours during the day, ranging from around 30 minutes to just under 2 hours, and can sleep for up to 7 hours overnight.
Toilet training is progressing well, with only occasional accidents as she continues to learn.
Dakota will suit an active, committed home that understands puppy development and is ready to put in the time and consistency to help her grow into a well-mannered adult dog.
They are receiving vaccinations as they prepare for their new homes. These pups will grow into devoted companions in the right hands, and we would love to see them move quickly from foster care into committed, loving homes. ❤️
