More about Jette
Jette has already made incredible progress since arriving at Dogwatch, and it’s been a privilege to watch his personality begin to shine.
Jette came into our care through the same North Canterbury welfare case as Bolt. Having spent the first part of his life with very little exposure to the outside world, he had never experienced many of the things most dogs take for granted, including regular handling, walks, and positive social experiences.
Despite this difficult start, Jette has embraced his rehabilitation with remarkable determination. While he was initially unsure of people, he has quickly discovered just how nice human attention can be. These days, you’ll often find him happily coming over for scratches, pats, and even the occasional cuddle. His confidence continues to grow every week, and his affectionate nature is becoming more apparent as he learns to trust.
Jette is a very people motivated dog who genuinely enjoys building connections with those he knows. He is looking for a family who will continue helping him discover that the world is a safe and exciting place.
Jette’s ideal home will have:
- No other pets.
- Older, dog savvy children only.
- A calm, patient household.
- People willing to continue his training and socialisation.
- Time to build his confidence through positive experiences.
Although Jette has progressed quickly, he will still require a slow and thoughtful adoption process. His future family will need to spend time visiting him at Dogwatch, allowing him to build trust and form a relationship before heading home.
Jette has already shown us just how resilient he is. With the right family, we have no doubt he will continue to flourish into a loyal, loving companion.
