In May 2023, Rocky arrived at Dogwatch, after being a frequent flyer at the Christchurch City pound. The staff there got to know his quirky and loving personality and asked us to take him in. Soon after arriving at Dogwatch it was apparent that this very charming lad had a lot of love to give and was a quick favourite among staff and volunteers. Rocky was our go to fella for any photo ops and cuddles with visiting groups. He waited patiently for just over a year for his forever home, filling our days with laughs and so much love proudly earning his title of “Office King”.
When an applicant came along to meet Rocky a couple of months ago, it was clear it was an instant match. We knew it was just the home he had been waiting for – a fireplace to snooze by on those cold nights, a soft bed to snuggle up under the duvet with his new Dad at night. Someone who understood his big emotions was prepared to walk alongside Rocky, guide him in this journey and new chapter in his life.
