Hi! I’m Milo

In August 2024, Arnie arrived at Dogwatch from the Christchurch City Council Pound — a sweet boy with a gentle heart and an expressive soul. Just a few months later, in November, he found his perfect match with Dylan and Karl… and a brand new name: Milo.

These days, Milo is living his very best life.

Here’s what Dylan has to say about their boy:

“Our wee guy, Milo, is a dog of delightful contrasts. An affectionate and gentle “Daddy’s boy,” he’s always needing to be close, whether snuggled at our feet, leaning his full weight against us or splayed out on our laps. He is a dedicated lounger, happiest curled on the couch or basking in his favourite sunny spot.

Outdoors, however, Milo transforms into an energetic explorer. He loves his morning runs, walks, and special trips to the dog park. On walks, his curiosity leads him to pause and sniff every interesting scent, though his attention quickly shifts, often resulting in a weaving path as he takes in each new aroma or sight. At the dog park, he loves a good chase (especially being chased!), though his still-developing braking skills can lead to hilariously clumsy moments.

Milo is quite the character with a wonderfully expressive voice. Excitement brings forth happy “awoos,” pure sounds of joy, and he charmingly vocalizes his anticipation for adventures. His enthusiasm for trips to the dog park is always announced with enthusiastic vocalisations for the entirety of the car ride.

Milo is not a fan of getting wet, he requires his raincoat even for quick bathroom breaks, much preferring the cozy warmth of indoors. More recently he has started requiring us to put on one of his jumpers or coats before heading out into the cooler weather.

He’s still making us laugh everyday with his goofiness and playfulness.”
