More about Boy
About Boy
Boy is a calm, thoughtful dog with a gentle nature and a lot of heart. He takes his time to get to know people, but once he trusts you, he’s incredibly loyal and affectionate. He’s not a pushy dog – instead, he watches the world with quiet curiosity and chooses connection on his terms.
Boy originally came from a working background but was surrendered due to injury. Since arriving, he’s shown himself to be clean, respectful, and easy to have in the home. He’s currently living in a family environment with children (aged 2, 9, and 11) and cats, and gets along well with everyone. He enjoys quiet companionship and soft interactions.
Boy does bark when crated and the children pass by, but outside of the crate he’s settled and gentle. He would suit a calm household with people who are happy to give him time and space to decompress. A secure section and a steady routine will help him continue to build confidence.
On Walks
Boy walks on a front-clip harness and is calm on lead. He doesn’t pull excessively and enjoys time exploring. His movement is currently limited (see below) but he enjoys slow, steady walks as part of his recovery.
Medical Needs
Boy recently underwent surgery to repair a serious leg injury. At the moment, he’s not using the leg, and has some muscle loss that will take time to rebuild. He’s following a gentle physiotherapy plan that includes basic exercises and weekly sessions.
There’s no guarantee his leg will fully recover, but early intervention gives him a good chance of improvement. Hydrotherapy may be introduced later. His new family will receive support and guidance with his care going forward. His condition is stable and manageable.
