Introducing Doogie, our newest and biggest addition to the Dogwatch family, straight from the Christchurch City Council! This large/giant mixed breed is a true gentle giant with a heart as big as his stature.
🧡 Personality and Temperament: Doogie hasn’t been with us for long, so we’re still discovering all the wonderful facets of his personality. So far, he’s shown to be nothing short of amazing! Doogie has mixed well with the ladies here at Dogwatch and even had a good encounter with a younger male.
🎶 The Harmonic Howler: Doogie loves to vocalize his thoughts with his deep, harmonic howl. It’s his unique way of expressing himself and saying hello to the world!
🐕 Ideal Home:
- Experienced and Confident Owner: Doogie is a big man with a big voice, so he needs a strong and confident owner who can manage him out and about.
- Space to Roam: Due to his size, a home with a spacious, secure backyard would be ideal for him to stretch his legs and enjoy his outdoor time.
- Attention and Affection: Doogie loves meeting people and getting head scratches from the staff and volunteers, so a family that can provide him with lots of love and attention would be perfect.
- Ongoing Socialization and Training: To ensure Doogie continues to thrive, he will need ongoing socialization with other dogs and regular training sessions.
- Living with others: Doogie is best suited as the man of the castle with no cats, or small animals. Doogie has potential to live in a multi dog household, with the right management in place.
