Doogie is big handsome 4.5year mastiff x rescued from the Christchurch city council shelter in July 2024

A few things to know about me:

Personality: Doogie is a big friendly giant, he is loving and affectionate, enjoys all human company.

Children: Doogie has been assessed with a child (9) and seems very comfortable so could potentially live with a family with dog savvy children.

Training: Doogie is pleasure to walk on the lead but occasionally forgets his strength especially if there is something he wants chase like a cat, so ongoing training and management is a must. Doogie is treat motivated which makes training a breeze.

Experienced and Confident Owner: Doogie is a big man with a big voice, so he needs a strong and confident owner who can manage him out and about.

Social skills: To ensure Doogie continues to thrive, he will need ongoing socialization with other dogs, he has successfully mixed with a variety of male and female dogs and has been fantastic, Doogie has the potential to live with another dog providing it’s the right match.

Cats: Doogie is not suited to a home with a cat or other small animals.
