Katy is a 1.7-year-old Collie mix
Katie is one super smart girl who walks beautifully on a lead and does well at ignoring other dogs on the other side of the road. She is our go to girl when we need a well behaved dog to walk!
She has met quite a few male and female dogs at the shelter, with some dogs she can have a rough and bossy play style which does need some management. She is great on community walks and has good lead manners. She would be best suited to a home without children, where she can feel safe and understood.
Katy has potential to live with a confident cat, provided her new owner is committed to offering the necessary training and management to help Katy adjust successfully.
As she spent her crucial months as a young dog in the pound, Katy is still building confidence in new and busy places and can be a little unsure when meeting new people and takes some time and patience to build full trust. Once she feels comfortable, though, her loving, playful, and cheeky personality really shines through.
Because Katy requires several meet and greets at the shelter, we would prefer to rehome her within the Canterbury region
