More about Lucy
***23/1 Lucy has been adopted and is on her settling in and support- APPLICATIONS CLOSED***
This girl has recently come into Dogwatch care from the Waimakariri Council. Around 7 to 8 years old, Heading dog mix she has lived a working life and has been well handled and loved by previous owners.
She has lived with cattle, sheep, and cats, and previously shared her environment with up to eight other dogs. She has worked with both sheep and cattle, including time as a trial dog, and brings with her the steady, sensible nature typical of a heading dog who knows her job, with out the young bouncy crazyness. She has had one litter and has always slept outside, so a move into a more domestic setting will be a big change for her and a warm couch to snuggle up on would be her dream.
This girl is confident in what she knows, but defiantly needs some gentle love and direction in her life to ensure she feels safe and loved. Lucy has excellent house manners, and would slot in nicely to a loving family home. Lucy walks like a dream on lead, and is dog social.
She is looking for a home that respects her background and allows her to transition into this next chapter with lots of love and space to grow. With the right match, she will be a loyal, capable, and deeply rewarding companion.
