🐾 Meet Nixon 🐾
Nixon is a 2.7 year old American Bulldog x Staffy who joined us from the Christchurch City Council Pound.
This handsome boy has settled into Dogwatch really well and has quickly become a favourite amongst staff and volunteers. Nixon is affectionate, playful, and loves human connection. Once he knows you, he is a total cuddle bug who happily leans in for attention and affection.
Nixon can be a little unsure when first meeting new people, but he warms up quickly with a calm approach and some tasty treats. Underneath it all is a very sweet boy who genuinely wants to be close to his people.
Since arriving, Nixon has started mixing with female dogs and has shown a lovely play style so far. He appears social and enjoys being out and about exploring the world. Nixon is a strong boy on lead due to his size, so he will need an owner confident in continuing his training and lead manners.
Nixon has now been with us for 11 weeks, which honestly feels far too long for such a lovely dog. We truly believe he is one of those dogs who will absolutely thrive once settled into a loving home environment with people of his own.
Nixon has also shown us he could be cat trainable with calm management and good introductions. At this stage we would recommend slow, sensible setups to help him succeed.
