🐾 Meet Ollie! 🐾

Ollie is a handsome young GSP cross, around one year old, who has come to us from the Ashburton District Pound. With his long legs and goofy charm, he’s hard not to fall for.

Ollie is a real people-focused boy who wants nothing more than to be close to his humans. We believe he may have experienced some rough handling earlier in life, and as a result he can feel unsure around fast, sudden movements or hands coming over his head. Despite this, his natural temperament is soft and eager to please. With time, patience, and kind, consistent handling, Ollie is already showing he has all the makings of a loyal and loving companion.

He is a clever young dog who is very food motivated, which makes training both rewarding and enjoyable. Like many young dogs, he can be strong on the lead, but he is responsive and keen to learn. With guidance, he will thrive.

We are still learning about Ollie’s sociability, but so far he has mixed well with other female dogs.

Ollie will need support settling into time alone and building confidence in a home environment, but he is more than ready for someone willing to invest in him.

• Someone patient and gentle, who understands shy or sensitive dogs
• Dog savvy children who can read his cues and give him space when needed
• A home committed to ongoing training and building his confidence
• Has mixed well with female dogs so far, with ongoing assessment
• Can be cat trainable with a confident, dog-savvy cat
• Someone able to support him with lead training and time alone

Ollie is a special boy with a lot of love to give. With the right home, he will absolutely flourish.
