More about Pepper
Meet Pepper!
Pepper is a gentle, affectionate girl who has captured the hearts of everyone she’s met. Recently, she underwent cruciate ligament surgery and has finished up her physio. While she won’t be a candidate for marathon runs, Pepper will thrive in a relaxed home where she can enjoy leisurely walks and plenty of time with her people.
At almost 5 years old, Pepper was rescued from the Christchurch City Council Animal Shelter and has since been cared for in a loving foster home. Living alongside a young child, she has blossomed into a dog who adores children and thrives in a family environment. Pepper’s calm, loyal nature makes her a wonderful companion, whether she’s joining you for a car ride or snuggling in for a quiet evening.
What Pepper brings to her new family:
Walks beautifully on lead and can ignore distractions
- Can live with a confident cat
- Can be a little unsure when first meeting new people, but with choice and space (plus a treat here and there) she will be their friend
Social with other dogs, at Peppers age she isn’t up for much play, but can happily be in company of other dogs
Absolutely adores children — currently living happily with a young child in foster care
Loves car rides and makes a fantastic travel buddy
Settles well in the house but isn’t suitable to be home alone for long hours. Pepper would enjoy someone who worked from part time or could come check on her during the day
Prefers a calm lifestyle with gentle activity and cuddly downtime
- Pepper is crate trained
Pepper is ready to give her heart to the right family. Could that be yours?
