More about Pepper
Meet Pepper!
Pepper is a gentle, affectionate girl who has captured the hearts of everyone she’s met. Recently, she underwent cruciate ligament surgery and has finished up her physio. While she won’t be a candidate for marathon runs, Pepper will thrive in a relaxed home where she can enjoy leisurely walks and plenty of time with her people.
At almost 5 years old, Pepper was rescued from the Christchurch City Council Animal Shelter and has since been cared for in a loving foster home. Living alongside a young child, she has blossomed into a dog who adores children and thrives in a family environment.
Pepper walks beautifully on the lead and is wonderfully calm, even around distractions. She can live with a confident cat and, although she may be a little unsure when meeting new people at first, with some space, choice, and a treat or two, she soon warms up and becomes their friend. Pepper will always let you know when there is a visitor on the property!
She’s social with other dogs and previously lived very happily with another; she still enjoys playtime, though as she gets older, she prefers companions who aren’t too exuberant. Pepper absolutely adores children and is currently living happily with a young child in foster care. She loves car rides and makes an excellent travel buddy.
At home, she settles well, but would like it if she had some form of day-time company. She prefers a calm lifestyle with gentle activity and plenty of cuddly downtime, and she’s also crate trained.
Pepper is ready to give her heart to the right family—could that be yours?
