More about Pepper
Meet Pepper
Pepper is a gentle, affectionate girl who has been in our care far longer than she deserves. At almost 5 years old, she has so much love to give and is more than ready to find a home of her own.
Pepper came to Dogwatch from the Christchurch City Council Animal Shelter and has since been in a loving foster home, where she has truly shown her nature. She lives alongside a young child and absolutely adores kids, she is calm, kind, and very naturally suited to family life.
Pepper has now fully recovered from her cruciate ligament surgery and is doing beautifully, with no expected issues moving forward. She is not a high-energy dog and would be best suited to a calm home where she can enjoy relaxed walks, car rides, and plenty of time with her people rather than long hikes or intense activity.
She walks beautifully on the lead, settles well at home, and is crate trained. Pepper can live with a confident cat, and while she may be a little unsure when meeting new people, she warms up quickly with a bit of space and kindness.
Pepper is social with other dogs and has previously lived happily alongside one, though she now prefers calm, respectful companions who match her easygoing nature. Suitable in a home with dog savvy cats!
She would love a home where she has some daytime company, as she enjoys being close to her people and part of everyday life. Pepper is a quiet, loyal companion who will fit beautifully into the right home.
Pepper has been waiting patiently. She is ready to find where she belongs.
