More about Piper
Meet Piper, a lively 2-year-old Staffy mix with a heart as big as her playful spirit. Piper’s journey began when she found her way into our care from the CCC Shelter in June 2023. Though she was swiftly adopted in July of the same year, unforeseen circumstances have brought her back to us due to ill health, seeking a new loving home.
While Piper has made remarkable progress in building confidence with people, she can still approach new encounters with a hint of caution. However, with the right guidance and patience, she blossoms into a loyal and affectionate companion. Piper’s social charm extends to her furry friends, as she revels in the company of other dogs, having romped around many a dog park with her previous owner.
Yet, Piper’s exuberance comes with a caveat; her high prey drive means she’s best suited for households without cats, small animals, or livestock. Vigilant containment measures are a must such as tall fencing, as she’s been known to attempt acrobatic moves when in hot pursuit. Whether as a solo pup or in the company of other canine pals, Piper thrives in the home environment and would even be a good fir with other dogs.
On the training front, Piper has shown tremendous improvement in toilet and crate manners, though a gentle reminder may be needed as she adjusts to her new surroundings – all of which Dogwatch can support you with! Remarkably independent and adaptable, she’s no stranger to solo adventures at home and relishes the chance to explore the great outdoors with an active companion.
But don’t be fooled by her energy; Piper’s favourite pastime is cuddling up close on the couch with a fluffy blanket! While she adores snuggling in bed, she respects boundaries and understands if certain areas are off-limits.
