More about Piper

Introducing Piper, a 2-year-old Staffy mix who first entered our care in June 2023 from the CCC Shelter. After being adopted in July 2023, Piper has recently returned to us due to her owner being unwell,  leaving her in need of a new home. Over the past 9 months, Piper has made great strides in gaining confidence with new people but can still be unsure of meeting some new people.

Piper is incredibly social with other dogs and has frequented the dog park with her previous owner. However, she may need some guidance to understand appropriate boundaries in her interactions. It’s important to note that Piper has a high prey drive and is not suitable for households with cats, small animals, or livestock. Secure containment is a must, as Piper has been known to attempt to jump fences when chasing after a cat. Piper could either live as an only dog or in a multi-dog household provided is was the right match.

On the positive side, Piper’s toilet and crate training has also greatly improved, she will need some guidance around this in a new environment. She is accustomed to being left home alone for a few hours at a time, showing her independence and adaptability. Piper is also an active dog who enjoys getting out for regular exercise, making her the perfect companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. Piper loves nothing more than snuggling in bed with you, however she is respectful if she is not allowed in some areas of the house.
