More about Wally
Update 7/03 Applications for Wally have closed as he is on a month’s trial with a family.
Wally is a stunning 6-month-old Border Collie cross rescued from Ashburton District Council Shelter.
Wally is a sweet, enthusiastic boy who LOVES human attention. Being a young working breed, he is energetic and has huge training potential. He is super excited about life and is a very happy dog who is eager to please. He is still just a baby, so needs further guidance with his basics, including keeping all four-paws on the ground when he wants attention.
Wally is a bubbly boy who enjoys interactions with everyone he meets, he travels well in vehicles, and enjoys a good run around. We have not yet taken him out in the community, but he has been non-reactive toward environmental stimuli here at the shelter (including other dogs).
We are yet to mix Wally with another dog here at the shelter as he is so new, but we hope to gather this information within the next week. He has been completely non-reactive moving past other dogs around our Adoption Centre.
Wally would do well in a home that is committed to his ongoing training, and will provide him with plenty of mental stimulation and physical exercise. He would be okay with dog-savvy children, but we are yet to mix him with other dogs or cat test him. We hope to have an update on this within the week.
Wally is a beautiful boy with so much potential, but he will need a relatively active home being a Border Collie cross. He is extremely affectionate and loves his pats. If you think you could offer Wally the loving home he deserves, please fill in an application form. Please note that we are only open by appointment only during COVID red, so any meet and greets will only occur once an application & supporting document has been submitted, and we have deemed it a potential match.
